Château Lafite Rothschild is een First Growth uit Pauillac (Médoc, Bordeaux) met een wijngaard van zo’n 103 ha op diepe, fijne steengruis‑gravelgrond met tertiair kalk, ideaal voor cabernet sauvignon. De aanplant bestaat uit circa 70 % cabernet sauvignon, 25 % merlot, met kleine aandelingen cabernet franc en petit verdot op oude stokken (gemiddeld ca 40 jaar).
